FAQs

What is permanent jewellery?

Permanent jewellery is a piece of jewellery that does not have a traditional clasp and is instead welded together to create a seamless bond.

The service is bespoke so your piece will be perfectly and safely fitted to you. It is meant to be worn all the time and is usually a bracelet, anklet or necklace.

Your piece can be personalised with connectors and charms and also updated/added to if desired.

How it works

Step 1 - Choose Your Chain

Browse and try on as many or few as you like from our stunning selection of 925 sterling silver and 14kt gold filled chains

Step 2 - Personalise

Keep it as a standalone chain or add a charm, connector or multiple details to make your piece unique

Step 3 - The Perfect Fit

We will measure the chain to fit perfectly to your wrist, ankle, neck or finger so it fits how you want it

Step 4 - The Weld

Sit back and watch the magic happen, I will weld your jewellery in place in 3,2,1 spark!

What happens if I need to remove it?

Certain medical procedures such as MRI scans and surgery may require removal. Should the need arise, you can simply snip the jump ring (the point where the jewellery is welded) with sharp scissors or Infinity and Bond can remove it for you and re-weld it back on at a later date.

This service is included as part of purchasing your jewellery from me. I may require proof of your procedure.

HOLIDAYS/AIRPORTS

FYI Permanent Jewellery provides no issue regarding airport security. You will only usually be asked to remove jewellery that is bulky or contains lots of metal. The materials in permanent jewellery are non ferrous and non magnetic so should not set off the detectors.

What is gold filled?

Gold filled is perfect if you're looking for a material that is higher quality than gold plated, but an affordable alternative to solid gold.

Gold filled jewellery has 100x more gold alloy than gold plated and because that layer is so much thicker, it will last longer and stand up to wear and tear better than gold plated.

Gold filled is more economical than solid gold and is best for long wear and sensitive skin. It can last a lifetime if taken care of properly, and isn't affected by water or hot weather. It is also tarnish-free under normal conditions.

Does it hurt?

No, absolutely not. Having your jewellery welded does not and should not hurt. A piece of leather is placed between your skin and the chain before it is welded, it will only weld and create a spark when it is in contact with the metal and you will be given safety glasses to wear.
